Our Philanthropic Mission Statement:
To improve and promote goodwill in the HDM Corp. community and the broader community through encouragement, opportunity, awareness and involvement, either financially, physically, or emotionally.
Overview
At HDM Corp. we believe no individual or entity exists, much less prospers, alone. We have always been committed to helping make our community a better place to live and work for all. We donate up to 10% of our pre-tax profit back to society and have donated thousands of dollars to charitable causes in Omaha and throughout the world. Through financial and non-monetary contributions, as well as volunteer time, we strive to make a difference in the community.
Our commitment to community includes support and ongoing involvement with many and varied organizations. They include the following:
Camp Fire USA
HDM Corp. sponsored and participated in Camp Fire USA’s annual author luncheon. The money raised at this luncheon is kept locally to assist nine elementary school-based and four shelter-based after- school programs. Through these programs, Camp Fire USA can foster academic, social and emotional development; provide a safe, structured learning environment; present children with positive role models; introduce an ethic of community service and civic leadership; and offer healthy snacks and physical fitness activities.
Girls & Boystown Nat. Research Hospital Memorial Day Run
HDM Corp. was a sponsor for this annual event. Boys Town National Research Hospital is able to continue offering children with hearing and vision disorders the best care available thanks to the generous support of all those who donated and participated.
Juvenile Diabetes Research
HDM Corp. made a donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International. JDRF plays a unique role in setting the global direction of diabetes research resources, to ensure that they are used as effectively as possible to bring about a world without type 1 diabetes and its complications.
Nebraska Choral Arts Society
In addition to sponsoring an ad in the 2007/2008 season program, HDM Corp. sponsored the commissioning of a choral piece of music by Paul Carey NCAS and for the 25th anniversary of the Festival of Christmas Brass and Choral Music. The name of the piece is “Winter’s Night Carol” and is written for SATB choir with children’s choir and organ and brass accompaniment.
American Heart Association
HDM Corp. has become the proud sponsor of the 2007-2008 Sweetheart Program, which is part of the American Heart Association Gala. The Sweetheart Program is a unique enrichment program for select high school girls which provides training in leadership skills, advocacy, community service, and heart healthy living.
Opera Omaha
HDM Corp. sponsored an ad in the 2007-2008 season program. HDM Corp. is proud to continue supporting Opera Omaha’s mission which is to enrich the quality of life in our community by creating professional opera and music theater, which uniquely combine the visual and performing arts to express humanity’s deepest emotions and highest aspirations.
The Omaha Food Bank
HDM Corp. continues to give generously to the Omaha Food Bank. For every dollar contributed, The Food Bank is able to distribute $14 worth of food to needy families and individuals in Nebraska and western Iowa.
The Community Board
The HDM Community Board’s mission is to work with the company to improve and promote goodwill in the HDM Corp. community and the broader community through encouragement, opportunity, awareness and involvement, either financially, physically or emotionally. The Board receives requests for various donations from the community and from employees to support things like the Papillion Fire Department, Operation Homefront, Out of Darkness Community Walk/Foundation for the Prevention of Suicide and many others.
